Our History & Growth
Started in 1973 by a dedicated group of local businesspeople to promote downtown Christiansburg, the Wilderness Trail Festival has grown from modest beginnings into the largest annual event in our town.
In 2009, the Kiwanis Club of Christiansburg assumed responsibility for the festival, continuing a legacy of community celebration and service. Today, the event welcomes between 8,000 and 10,000 attendees each year.
