A vibrant, sunlit street festival in downtown Christiansburg, Virginia. A large white banner hanging over the street reads "Kiwanis Wilderness Trail Festival." The scene is bustling with a diverse crowd of people walking between rows of colorful vendor tents and craft stalls. In the foreground, a group of adults and young children are walking toward the camera, smiling and holding hands. The street is lined with historic brick buildings and mature green trees, with the warm glow of the sun shining from the end of the road.

Our History & Growth

Started in 1973 by a dedicated group of local businesspeople to promote downtown Christiansburg, the Wilderness Trail Festival has grown from modest beginnings into the largest annual event in our town.

In 2009, the Kiwanis Club of Christiansburg assumed responsibility for the festival, continuing a legacy of community celebration and service. Today, the event welcomes between 8,000 and 10,000 attendees each year.
