- Motion: G. Morris
- Second: Charlton
The motion passed unanimously.
Program-Board introduced Jane Greenough, MCPS; Supervisor of School Counselling and Section 504. Jane has been involved with schools for over 21 years. She said teachers, faculty and staff face many challenges with children and their families who have many issues. She is very thankful for all Kiwanis does for the kids including gift cards and the Christmas party. She is responsible for School Counseling, Section 504 and Mental Health and went on to explain the details of each. She spends a lot of time and effort teaching social interaction which many kids had not been exposed to. Section 504 came about due to a Civil Rights law for children requiring additional support to achieve. Jane feels she is the Chief Love Officer and Leads with Love. She believes everything you do affects someone and she strives to positively impact anyone she meets. She personally funds counselor support as she does not have a budget for these activities. She would appreciate any help we can provide to help her help them and make them feel loved and important. Q&A followed.
