Call to Order

President Perry called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a prayer led by Charlton.

Approval of Previous Minutes

The minutes of the May 7, 2026, meeting were submitted for approval.

Committee Reports and Floor Comments

• MJAM: President Perry presented a thank you letter from MJAM for our $1,000 donation.
• Hunter’s Mother: our heartfelt condolences go out to Dennis in the loss of his mother who passed this week. Graveside service will be May 16 at 11am.
• Remember Gerald Duncan who is in hospital for a health issue.
• Warren Taylor: President Perry presented our newest member; Warren Taylor with a Kiwanis hat, shirt, and name tag.
• Fund Raiser: Simmons announced we made approximately $3,300 at last Saturday’s event.
• Backpacks: Simmons briefed we are done with backpacks until September when the kids come back to school. NO PACKING NEXT WEEK.

• Verizon Equipment: Simmons reviewed the equipment that is attached to a light pole at the park. Verizon placed it there several years ago. Their payment to us increases every year and is now up to $6,000.
• Facebook: A. Glynn provided an update on our Facebook presence. She said we are seeing a lot of activity thanks to every one’s help…ensure you like/love/share which will help spread our word.
