Call to Order
President Davidson called the meeting to order. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a blessing led by Charlton.
Approval of Previous Minutes
The minutes of the October 1, 2026, meeting were submitted for approval.

- Committee Reports and Floor Comments
- Backpacks-Simmons announced we are packing for 36 students now.
- Board Meeting-President Davidson announced the next Board Meeting will be on 10/22…please plan to attend. This is an open meeting, and all members are welcome to attend to learn and observe.
- Meeting next week-will be at the park. Keesee announced Wil Shelburne from the Planning Commission will conduct a tour at 5:30 explaining the Crab Creek beautification project including the Walnut Branch. The Christiansburg Fire Department will cook for us. President Davidson mention there are plenty of projects in the planning process for the park.
- KWTF recap meeting-Wade announced the review will be at the second meeting in November. All are invited to bring their helpful comments. This was our best year ever as we made over $51,000.
- Membership Drive-will be scheduled soon. Please see the sign-up sheet to invite prospects for membership. You can always bring a prospect to any meeting any time. You don’t have to wait for membership drive.
- Div 16 Council Meeting-President Davidson reminded everyone of the meeting this Saturday from 9:30-11:30 at the Wytheville Community College. All are invited to attend. We will meet at the Exit 114 Park & Ride at 8:30 to carpool.
- Morris Witten-gave thanks for the service award he was presented with last week.
- Website-G. Glynn announced we are getting a lot of visitors on our website.
- Meteor shower-Henderson reminded everyone about the shower tonight that only happens every 60 years and should be visible after dark.
- Speakers and Events (Please share suggested guest speakers with Bruce Board for scheduling.)
- 10/15/26- Will Shelburne – NRV Regional Commission – Crab Creek Beautification
- 12/15/26-Annual Children’s Christmas Party at St Paul’s Church.
